Hailey Update

I sent this to many of you reading our blog but some friends (like you Nicolle!!) aren't on our email list so I felt needed to update here too.

Here is what I emailed out this afternoon:
Just a quick up date on Hailey Grace.

We are in St. Michael's Hospital, room S236 on the Pedi floor. She is sleeping at the moment and feeling a little better. They just switched her from Saline to the other kind of IV with sugar in it (can't remember what they called it) so she is going to start perking up. We've had blood work, two tries to get the IV in and xrays of her chest and abdominal area. The results have not arrived back yet.

They still aren't letting her have anything to eat or drink after trying a little Pedialyte when we first arrived. I ended up wearing it and she has since had two runny diapers. I hope they let us try again after her nap. Our normal Pedi (Dr. Porter) is off today so we saw Dr. Cheryl again this morning and sent us over. She is going to come check on us later this afternoon and decide if we get to go or stay over night.

Collins brought me her Macbook up here so I have internet and can see the texts on my cell but can't reply. I can't get a signal...silly sprint! I will update you all once I know something more. We're hoping it is just her dehydrated and needing fluids to stop the throwing up and runny diapers.


Since that email, I gave her 2 oz of Pedialyte (pissed off the nurse) because she was really wanting a drink. The nurse gave her a grape popsicle and she got through half of it before she fell asleep on my chest. She has dosed of and on the rest of the afternoon and is once again asleep. They just came and got her vitals and her temp only went from 100.4 to 100.6 so not much change in anything. It is a little after 5 so I am expecting the doctor to come around shortly and tell us what she think is really causing all of this. We'll update you all shortly.
