And we're out!

I'll update more later. Hailey just woke from a nap and Collins is out running errands for me, I'd be lost with out Auntie Collins today. She has brought Hailey Pedialyte and now going to get her medicine and probiotics.

Here is what I emailed out this morning:

After a LONG night of fevers, screams and tears, we were released. Hailey had a belly ache and a fever (101.9) through out the night. I froze because I kept the air cool because she was so hot. Dr. Porter and Dr. Cheryl both came to see Hailey this morning and even got a smile out of her. That is big after being in the hospital and never knowing who is going to poke her next. They felt that since her WBC was back to normal, she could be released and we would just have to watch her closely.

The next step is to get her eating again on this bland diet. She had Dora soup for lunch and I was surprised when she picked out all the "Boots" character shaped pastas and ate those. She won't be able to drink milk until at least Wednesday when we go back for a check up. After lunch, we scrubbed the hospital out of us and ran out of hot water twice, I don't think she could clean and in bed fast enough.

There were many small kids in and out of the Hospital while we were there for the Stomach flu as well. Poor kids, it is rough! They are also treating her for C-Diff (Clostridium difficile). Her diaper tested positive for this but didn't find a lot of the toxic cells. She was worried that since it was growing it, the toxic part was going to start appearing more and more with each diaper test. Hailey had been on two different rounds of antibiotics for ear infections ( Penicillin and Omnicef) and then they gave her Rocephin for an infection while in the hospital. The antibiotics can eat the good bacteria out of your stomach, gut and intestines and that is where the C Diff comes in. Here is a good website if you want to read what it is all about http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/c-difficile/DS00736/DSECTION=causes . We go back for a check up Wednesday morning so I'll let you all know how she is feeling.

Now off to sanitize all the items we took to the hospital with us! Thanks for all your prayers for a speedy recovery!

Since then, she has done pretty well. Took a good nap, has only had two diapers which is great considering she had soup and something to drink for lunch.

We're still not out of the woods yet but on the way to recovery. The next two weeks are going to be full of baby steps for us trying to get Hailey well. I personally can't wait for her to be back on milk, she misses it!

I'm glad you're home and she is doing a bit better. What a lot to go through! You've been in my prayers a lot!

I know what you mean about scrubbing the hospital out of you. I'm that way with hospitals and doctor's offices. I feel so germy when I leave those places.

I hope for a speedy recovery and lots of sleep and smiles for you!
