Hailey was so exhausted checking in that for the most part, she slept off and on while laying on my chest. I had to keep the room cold due to her rising fever but her poor little head was sweating and drenching my chest. Her behavior changed a little during the first day. She became more scared of strangers, she was fearing that I would leave her, and fearing that pain was going to be the result of anyone coming through her room door. Therefore, I held her, cuddled with her and loved on her non stop. She needed me more than ever and most of the nurses did their best to be sweet. We had two that went over and beyond with her and she warmed up quickly. Warm friendly faces can make all the difference in the world.

With the children, they go to the "hurt room" or "ouchie room" for things that involve needles and other pains. She would beg not to go in that and the whole time we were in there, she would beg to go. I hated it. I wanted to take her and run as fast as I could to get her away from all that pain and suffering. I wanted every ounce of her pain to be my pain instead.

I really want to thank all the Doctor's, nurses, friends and family who cared so deeply about Hailey's fast recovery. We heard from just about all our family and friends and it was so nice. The quick phone calls and emails made such a difference to us. Many of you shared your experiences of your children going through similar things and it really helped out. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we won't forget all your kindness!
