Activites

Kristen and I were discussing activities for the kids this morning. What are your favorite indoor or outdoor activities to do with your toddler? If I take Hailey out of day care for July and August, we'll need some fun activities and learning activities.
Here is what I have on my list but would LOVE an email if you have some neat ideas.
1. There is a great pre-K learning book at Sam's for a little less than $8. It is a great book and we will probably buy it.
2. side walk chalk. We draw shapes and numbers.
3. we wash cars
4. sing songs like the ABC's and such
5. We attempt treasure hunts but Hailey doesn't pay attention that long. :)
6. I love making volcano's and she loves when it explodes (a little old for her)
7. We collect things on walks and tape/glue them to a poster board and label what they are.
8. Feed the ducks
9. Swing on the swing set.
10. A POOL is a must. She lived in it last year. We haven't gotten one this year but have a big pool at Minton's for free.
11. Look for butterflies and lighting bugs.

Once she is out of school, we'll add these:
1. Word of the day. We'll start with A and go through the alphabet. With A, we will eat apples, applesauce, draw the letter, talk about things that start with A (Ant, Alligator, ambulance, airplane, etc). We will color pictures that start with an A.
2. Number of the day. We will probably keep it 1-10 until she is older but we'll keep it like the letters. We'll count, color and draw the letters.
3. We'll have a weekly or monthly theme. Like for July, we'll do stuff dealing with the fourth of July, we'll learn about the ocean (since it is hot right?) and all the fish.

So if you have any good ideas, please email them to me!!
Thanks

Glad you posted this!!! The curriculum that I found online today started with the letter A & B. So I printed out the letters and then a game to do. That's as far as I got though. I'm hoping to get by Costco or the teacher store before we head up north. I'll let you know if I find anything!

PS- I LOVE the new blog look! I am trying to get use to the new title. I was use to the old one! haha I keep forgetting this is your blog. :) I think I may try to do something different to mine really quick....
