Selling Cologne

Hailey and I stopped for gas at the Shell/EZ Mart on Stateline yesterday around 7 pm only because I couldn't make it to Road Runner in Nash. RR is our typical fill up place and car bath. I ALWAYS roll the window down so Hailey can watch me and lock the car. It's habit and I am not sure why. A female approached the passengar side of the car asking if I was interested in buying some cologne that they were selling it out of the car. I politetly responded that I wasn't and thought she would move on to the next person pumping gas. She just stood there staring. I turned around to see if my gas was almost done only to find a big black guy standing next to me trying to look in the car where the window is down. The gas station has quite a few people coming in and out of the store and pumping gas. I started freaking a little. Told him to step back and get away from my car. He just stood there. The girl was still standing at the passenger side. The person next to me pumping stuck his head around the corner because he could hear me telling the guy to get back. One of the staff memebers was watching out the front door as well like she was making sure nothing happened. I asked him a few times to move on and when he wouldn't, I dailed 911. I have no idea if they were doing anything or not but it was just odd. really odd. Maybe he was deaf and slow and didn't understand me. Maybe he was going to rob me or steal my car. I have no idea but I wasn't interested in their stupid cologne being sold out of a car and wanted them to leave me alone. I stopped pumping, climbed through the window so I wouldn't have to unlock the doors and sped off. It was scary even if they were REALLY selling stuff out of their car. You just don't walk up to a female with a kid in the car, at sunset, pumping gas and not expect her to be a littl concerned.

Snopes said it wasn't a thing to rob you. That made me feel better. I will be getting gas by my house at all times again unless I have others with me. It just isn't worth the risk.
