The little rash last night has now covered Hailey's entire body. It looks like hives, it looks like whelps, it looks like an allergic reaction. Here we are in Austin, no Pedi close and Dr. Porter and Holly come to our rescue once again. Hailey hasn't had a fever so I wasn't worried about that but whelps between the toes, in the ears, around the eyes and EVEN THE BELLY BUTTON had me concerned. She had been on amoxicillin for a week (about what it takes for an allergic reaction) and there is a viral rash going around Texarkana. When we were in on Friday for her 18 M check up, other children in the office were being seen for a rash. Either way, we are off the medicine, now on Benadryl until the rash goes away and hopefully sending the funky bug far away.
Hailey is now asleep after a long bath (it seemed to soothe the rash), lubed with sensitive lotion and snoring on my pillow. I think the swelling (I KNOW IT DID!) went down in the bath since was in there a good 30 minutes. She better enjoy it as her pack n play time is coming.
