Our redneck family vacation

That was our theme this year, our redneck family vacation. Each year we laugh and come up with a title of our vacation to the cabin and redneck was perfect for this year. Those who know all of us, know we aren't exactly redneck especially when you have to put out such an effort to play the part.

This is just a little piece of our wonderful vacation.

I don't think we could have had a better 4th of July anywhere else in the world. We were right were we were supposed to be. Chris was in Heaven, doing everything he loved. We watched him a few times just enjoying life and can't remember the last time he looked so happy. He needed it. We needed it.

If you have been lucky enough to visit the cabin then you know what we mean when we say "boon-docks". You go north of Cushman until you turn and then still drive a good 15 minutes far back into the unknown. There are few houses, little cattle, creeks and lots of dogs. Isn't it funny how the wild dogs always meet up in a certain area?!? When you get to the gate, you drive down a dirt road and arrive at a beautiful cabin sitting on it's own lake surrounded by a tall levy. It's peaceful like no other. You have everything at your fingertips and no outsider to share it with. The cabin however is not like your traditional cabin but rather nicer than most homes. The wood and stone flooring, the cedar game room, the flat screens through out and a killer deck that wraps around will make you want to stay forever.

We ate and ate and ate. Isn't that what rednecks do on family vacation? Haha! We arrived on Thursday to a feast at Aunt Tonia's in Batesville. Nan nan, Pepe, Molly, Ken and the kids came over to eat and play. Wow, it sure was great to see them. Chris played golf on Friday morning while Carly, Hailey and I dined with Uncle Chip and swam. Poor Hailey Grace was so worn out and full that she fell asleep while floating on a raft in the pool. Yes, she really went to sleep in the pool.

The next few days were full of cabin time, fish fry, home cooking' buffets, smoked ribs, movies, fishing, swimming, four wheelers, fire works, etc. usually at the end of vacation you are ready to be back in your own bed even though you *might* not be ready to leave. We weren't even close to wanting to be back in our bed or wanting to leave. We could have stayed forever.
