BOOKS
I picked up a new book this evening. It's called Shepherding a Child's Heart by Tedd Tripp. The book is a modern parenting book but based on Biblical methods. He talks about speaking to the heart since all actions come from the heart. Hopefully, I will start it in a few days and be able to share it with you all. A friend was reading it last week and then I saw a posting on a blog today so figured it just had to be good...right?
DOGS
Our poor 14 year old lab is missing. We have no idea how or when she got out or if she is around the yard somewhere. My dad, John Davis, Hailey and I looked in the gated back yard, in the barn and storage shed and she is no where. We lifted canoes, kayaks, hay, old piles of grass, etc. Poor Hailey keeps asking where Jesse girl is. To get to our house, you have to have a gate opener or actually get out of your car and push a button to open the gate. Dogs can't open it. The weather turned nasty so we had to stop looking but will resume again in the morning. I am fully aware that dogs often run off to pass away and with her being 14 and having to put up with Boots, it is understandable that it was just her time. We are more worried about where she is and if she isn't on the land, how she got out. Duke got out and got hit but the gate was broken. It is working properly now.
STORMS
The rain moved in and cooled things off a lot. We needed the rain but it immediately flooded everything. Some crazy person was even out mowing in the storm. I'm not sure if that is dedication or plain craziness. Thunder, lighting, sheets of rain?? That is just not my ideal time to mow. I believe they will linger around for a while.
