"I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me with what I asked of him." 1 Samuel 1:27

The rain is still present with many severe storms pushing through. We've been pretty lucky compared to those in other areas. I did learn that Hailey Grace is scared of thunder or "funder" as she calls it.
I am saying constant prayers for my friends in New Braunfels and the surrounding areas. One friend is stuck at her ranch and Rockin' R was destroyed. Thank you Cristin for emailing me a picture. Chris and I lived in New Braunfels during the big flood of 2002 (http://canoeman.com/canoe/docs/flood2002.html & http://www.bratcher.info/flood/) and our poor house had water in it. I went to work in Gruene that morning only to be escorted home by men in large trucks. Rockin R was full under water when looking out of Gristmill. I can only imagine the fierce water this time with it looking like the picture below. The second link above is a picture going into our neighborhood. I was dropped off and wadded to Denise's house and then made my way down to ours. It was scary! So I hope everyone of you will say a little prayer for the people who are suffering through yet another river flood.

I didn't make my event tonight and am pretty bummed about it. Sometimes no matter how hard you try, things just don't work out. Then when you throw kids in the mix, things totally change. I had a wonderful evening with my favorite gal so it makes up for missing one heck of an event. Dr. Porter sent me a message when they were singing Brown Eyed Girl, made me smile.

With the storms, the cooler weather is still around. Oh how I wish it would stay a little longer but I'm afriad we'll be sweltering by Saturday. My skin could use a little vitamin D mixed in with sunscreen so I'm okay with it. I guess.

A friend, Crystal, posted this on facebook and I thought I would share.

Disgusting right? Any idea what it is? They aren't sure either. Sure looks scary. It was located inside a Capri Sun. WE LOVE Capri Suns. Chris told me he almost bought some last night. It was the Apple Juice flavor.

I've also been reading the blog Abby Suderland's ride around the world solo. While I don't agree fully with her decision or her parents, I respect her in her decision. If Hailey comes to me at 16 and wants to sail the world to set a record, I think you all know what the answer would be. BUT, this family has been around boats their entire lives and Abby has been training most of hers for this adventure. We haven't lived that life, we don't know what they are capable of accomplishing but we can all pray for a safe return for Abby. Here is her blog : http://soloround.blogspot.com/ . It is a pretty interesting ride.

A sweet little story.

Hailey was having some pizza (after having rotini pasta/tomato sauce & eggs w/bacon) in her high chair. Her patience runs thin in her hair chair so down she went. I placed her plate on the floor and began unloading the dish washer. A storm was blowing in. She brought her pizza to our room and was talking to her baby Carly. I could hear something about the rain and boots and swimming. A few moments later, it was quite so I came to see what michevious thing she was up to. Little Miss was sitting in my closet with her pizza, baby Carly and some blankets. I asked her what she was doing and she replied with "funder momma funder scared". POOR THING! These storms the past few days have really challenged her. I sat down next to her with the pizza box, in the closet and assured her she would be okay and that I would always protect her. We then finished our pizza. FIVE PIECES FOR ME AND ONE FOR HER.. It's the little moments like this that you know God Blessed you with the most gracious gift you could ever recieve.

Well that is all for tonight. I has taken me nearly two hours to type this. The storm as the internet running slow on top of my slow lap top.
