The weekends need to be a day longer. I never want my Sundays to end. I used to take advantage of Sunday but now I look forward to it. I love spending time with family and friends on Sunday, I love the fact that you can eat all day (I think everyone should eat fried chicken after Mass/Church), I love the smell of McDonald's breakfast in the kitchen when we rise, I love sleeping in (until 8:30 usually on Sunday), I LOVE the fact Chris has been able to enjoy this Sunday with us, I love going to Sam's on Sunday (all that free food!!!), I love movie Sunday, I love pasta night Sunday... I could go on forever. Saturday is always a busy day but Sunday is the day I look forward to weekly and enjoy it to the fullest.
Quick recap of our awesome weekend.
We woke early on Saturday, 5:15 for Hailey to crawl in bed with us and then 8 for the day. Poppy, Hailey and I usually have breakfast at the Fiesta House and have been wanting to take Chris so off we went. Hailey squeals when we pull into the parking and is half way good. Chris enjoyed his food very much and couldn't believe the price. It's cheaper than fast food and cooked fresh. They are also catering Hailey's birthday party in July. Another reason we were wanting a Dora Themed Carnival. Decisions Decisions. After breakfast, we played in the yard until it was time for KElli's wedding. I must say that Kelli made a beautiful bride but a wedding isn't the place for a toddler. We were outside in the heat 5 minutes into the wedding. Hailey and I weren't the only ones having issues so I spoke to the other family members out there. The reception was at the Church as well with great food. There wasn't a big meal but perfect amount and just the right food. We left around 3:30 so Hailey could finally take a nap. She was beyond sleepy. Two hours later, she woke to find her teacher, Miss Tiffany, walking through the door. She was so excited that she almost cried. Hailey has grown a special relationship with Tiffany. We are deeply saddened that she is going to be gone through the summer and not working at Hailey's school. When she is back in August, I imagine we'll be in an apartment in DFW until our big move in early 2010. Chris and I will call her often to visit and play with Hailey.
We were due for some adult time so we met up with some friends at Zapata's for dinner. AFter that, we made the rounds in Texarkana..exciting right? Fat Jacks and Timothy's and then home. I was beyond exhausted when we finally made it home but HAD A BLAST.
Today, we all slept in and Poppy had McDonald's waiting on us when we woke. He goes for coffee and newspapers at Road Runner and then swings by Mc Donald's for breakfast. I love the smell of syrup on weekend mornings! We were LAAAAAZZZZYYYYY this morning. Beyond lazy. Hailey enjoyed playing "nap time" and putting everyone to sleep until noon. We decided that we had to get motivated. Off to Sam's for a few things and to check out their mini notebook laptops. We're wanting a small one to travel with. I think we've decided on the mini one to my current laptop, the Sony Vaio. We've had no issues with it and Collins gave it to me when she got her Mac so it isn't the newest. I works MUCH better than the HP laptops we have had in the past. I would LOOOOOOVE to get a Macbook right now but until we stop traveling constantly, I don't want to risk messing it up. After the Sam's, we went to the mall for a Brickhouse burger. Jeff owns that place so I had been wanting to take Chris. Hailey ran wild through the mall until we made the indoor play ground. She made some friends and didn't want to leave. What child ever wants to leave the play ground? On the weekends, I don't keep her on a strict schedule so she didn't go down for a nap until nearly 4:30 and woke at 6:30. Late night for us? She is outside with Auntie Collins and Mia right now coloring with chalk. They were gone all weekend so we didn't get to visit them and Hailey loves coming over here. I just hope she is still welcome after leaving her this week. :) haha!
Not sure what our plans are for tonight, probably cooking a little dinner and laundry. We still haven't packed. yikes! Chris heads back to Irving tomorrow night to catch a flight early Tuesday morning. It will be his first experience with South Florida. Luckily, we have made our decision on the job front and won't be taking this route. I will meet him in Irving Tuesday night once I get Hailey situated and we fly out Wednesday morning. SO EXCITED!!
