It's the story of our lives, always on the road. We've been here in Tulsa almost 7 months and I have half the house packed.
Chris was on vacation last week and while we had fun plans, they were replaced with nasty weather and a house hunting trip to Lufkin, Texas. Okay, we did have a little fun in Texarkana and on a quick trip to Hard Rock in Dallas. Back to the move.. Lufkin was going to be our new home. The only area we wanted to live in was the Crown Colony Resort Community. It is an older community in a Country Club setting but housing is hard to find. Many places had a wait list. The place we wanted was a small place with a large den. Perfect for Hailey's toys. We can't get it until January so we didn't sign a lease on anything but decided on a hotel for a month. Chris left this morning to "move" down there even though he'll travel on his days off to Texarkana. He moved into the hotel and headed to work. Upon arrival to work, he was told they needed to transfer him again. WHAT you might say? Yes, transferred again. He is now in a hotel in Plugerville (Austin) and will get an extended stay for the remainder of the month and in January. Hopefully by the end of January, we'll look for a place and make decisions as to where to live. We have some dear friends in Liberty Hill and we love the idea of living out that way.
Many of you haven't lived the Restaurant lifestyle and I hope you never do. It's really hard. REALLY HARD. Late nights, uncertain futures, transfers at any moment. I love listening to people's comments when they really have no idea what goes on in the business. Chris and I always wonder where people pick up their opinions. It makes us laugh.
Hailey and I are going to live in Texarkana during this transition. It isn't fair for her home to be in a hotel right now. Toddlers in hotels are a nightmare because they aren't the safest and cleanest place. We've moved most of our stuff we'll need
down there and will travel to see Chris and he will travel to us on his days off. I'm not looking forward to the traveling with Hailey though. It is really hard on them when they are this age. Hopefully this won't last a long time and we'll be back together as a family soon. We're also hoping to do Mother's Day Out a couple days a week. I think it would be really good for Hailey.
I'll download some pictures tomorrow while packing. I haven't had my laptop for 18 days so I'm behind on pictures. AND I can't wait to catch up on everyone's blogs!!!

Oh my gosh girl! You are busy and on the go. I feel for you about moving, again. I hope it all turns out well. I agree that it would be hard to be in a hotel with a toddler. Very hard!! I wish you lots of luck on the move.
